He developed a unique author's methodology for analyzing the early monuments of the Taoist canon. Numerous publications make significant adjustments to the modern understanding of the origins, genesis and evolution of Taoist books of the III-VI centuries. He prepared a unique monograph on Chinese textology, "Golden Books and Jade Letters: Taoist Written Monuments 3-6 Centuries," illuminating understudied in the world science layer of daology, sinological source studies and textual study.
