Master`s student of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science took second place at the International Olympiad “IT-Planet 2020/21”

Master's student of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Stepan Svechnikov became one of the winners of the XIII International Olympiad in the field of information technologies “IT-Planet 2020/21”. The young man took part in the DataArt IT Contest.

In total, more than 17,500 participants took part in the XIII IT-Planet 2020/21 Olympiad. More than 400 students and young graduates from 160 educational universities in Russia and the CIS countries were admitted to the final stage of the Olympiad.
In the DataArt competition, every participant was free to choose a programming language to complete the tasks. Stepan Svechnikov worked with Python as the main language, and used JavaScript and PHP for some specific tasks.
At the selection stage, the contestants passed tests in modern computer technology, mathematics and English language. At the main stage, they had to demonstrate their knowledge of programming languages and go through interviews with experts.

In the final, the participants of the Olympiad had to solve technical problems. So, in the DataArt competition, young IT specialists had to implement a calculator, determine the best sector for viewing from the building from the observer's coordinates, find unique data in the provided archives, etc.

According to the results of the tasks, the master's student of the Amur State University took the second place.
