About 400 athletes from more than 20 countries took part in the competition. Samvel Kazarian, a student of the Law Department of the Amur state University, joined the Russian team.
The four-day competition brought the Russian team more than 50 medals of various denominations. 35 Russian athletes won gold medals.

Samvel's opponent in the final match was Dmytriy Stetsenko from Ukraine. Eventually the athlete from the Amur region won the title of World Champion.
