The names of the best contestants of the International Mathematics Olympiad were announced at AmSU

The results of the Third International Mathematics Olympiad have been summed up at the AmSU.  In total, about 300 bachelor and specialist students fr om higher educational institutions of Russia, China, and Belarus took part in it.
The Olympiad had ten tasks from various branches of mathematics: mathematical analysis, algebra, geometry, probability theory, theory of differential equations. The jury checked the works of the contestants several times.
The checking process of the contestants' works was done in two stages. At the first stage all the works were checked separately. The best works were selected at the second stage with the help of a group discussion, out of about twenty works with the highest amount of points. According to Vladimir Selvinskiy, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, member of the program committee and member of the Olympiad jury, the works of the winners clearly stand out among all the other works, and their high quality is admirable.
Andrey Leifa, acting president of Amur State University, Doctor of Education and professor, announced the names of winners.
First-place (the total winner) was taken by Niu Hao Peng, the student of University of Science and Technology Beijing (84 points).
Second-place was taken by Feng Qianshuo, the student of Harbin Institute of Technology (74 points).
Second-place was taken by Yu Runi, the student of Harbin Institute of Technology (67 points).
Third-place was taken by Wu Haoxing, the student of University of Science and Technology Beijing (61 points),
Third-place was taken by Liu Xianhe, the student of Shengyang Aerospace University (61 points).
Third-place was taken by Wang Qi, the student of Shengyang Aerospace University (59 points).
In addition, the facilitating committee selected the best students at each university.
